Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide parking?
We do not offer complimentary parking. However, there are a number of metered spaces on Washington Street in front of our building. We are also conveniently located on the MBTA Silver Line, East Newton stop. Click here for directions via the MBTA.

What insurance do you accept?
South End Community Health Center accepts all major public and private insurance plans, including MassHealth, Health Safety Net, Neighborhood Health Plan, BMCHealthNet, Network Health, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim and many others.

Who do you serve?
We do not turn anyone away for healthcare. Our services are available to anyone who wishes to come here. We primarily serve residents of the South End and Lower Roxbury neighborhoods, but many of our patients come from across Eastern Massachusetts. We have a large number of Latino patients because of our bilingual staff.

What services do you offer?
The Health Center offers a full range of services to meet all your healthcare needs in one convenient location. Services include adult medicine, dental, eye care and an optical shop, family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, laboratory, mental health, nutrition, pediatrics, ob/gyn and WIC.

With which hospitals are you affiliated?
Because the Health Center is independent, we have affiliations with many hospitals. That means we are able to accommodate your own individual needs should you require hospitalization. We work closely with Children’s Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center.

What do I do if I can’t pay for my care?
Your ability to pay should not be a barrier to receiving the healthcare you need. If you don’t think you can pay for your healthcare, please call our Patient Services staff at (617) 425-2000 and make an appointment to see what options are available to you. You may be eligible for services through Mass Health or other state subsidized programs, like the Health Safety Net, or we may be able to make arrangements for you to pay for services on a sliding scale.
