Provide dental care to patients at SECHC’s 1601 Washington Street, Boston, MA, 02118, and 400 Shawmut Avenue, Boston, MA 02118 locations.

Essential Duties:

  • Make visual examinations of patient’s teeth and surrounding oral tissues. Enter diagnostic findings on dental charts and in the patient’s medical record.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases, abnormalities, injuries, and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity and its associated structures.
  • Examine patients and interpret radiographs and diagnostic tests to determine type and extent of dental diseases and disabilities or dysfunctions.
  • Determine and implement effective plan of treatment.
  • Locate and repair cavities in teeth.
  • Evaluate findings and prescribe type, extent, and order of treatment required.
  • Restore health and function of carious, fractured, or otherwise defective teeth.
  • Provide behavior management techniques.
  • Extract impacted, infected, diseased or troublesome teeth or perform root canal work.
  • Make impressions and models of jaws the heads of other patient services in and mouth in preparation for dentures.
  • Treat diseases of teeth, gums and mouth with appropriate drugs or surgery.
  • Advise patients about appropriate dental health practices.
  • Perform oral surgery, endodontic, prosthodontic, and interceptive orthodontic treatment.
  • Consult with the heads of other patient services in planning dental treatment to be used for coordination of patient problems.

Qualifications: DMD or DDS degree and a valid license to practice dentistry in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
