FAQ

Do you provide parking?
We do not offer complimentary parking. However, there are a number of metered spaces on Washington Street in front of our building.

What insurance do you accept?
South End Community Health Center accepts all major public and private insurances, including MassHealth, Health Safety Net/Free Care, Neighborhood Health Plan, BMCHealthNet, Network Health; Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield; Tufts, Harvard Pilgram and many others.

Who do you serve?
We do not turn anyone away for health care. Our services are available to anyone who wishes to come here. We primarily serve residents of the South End and Lower Roxbury neighborhoods, but many of our patients come from across Eastern Massachusetts. We have a large number of Latino patients because of our comfortable setting and bilingual staff.

What services do you offer?
The South End offers a full range of services to meet all your health care needs in one convenient location. Services include adult medicine, dental, eye, family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, laboratory, mental health, nutrition, pediatrics, ob/gyn, and WIC. We also have a pharmacy on our first floor so that it is easy for you to get your medicine when you need it.

With which hospitals are you affiliated?
Because the South End is an independent health center, we have affiliations with many hospitals. That means we are able to accommodate your own individual needs should you require hospitalization. We work most closely with Children’s Hospital, Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center.

What do I do if I can’t pay for my care?
Your ability to pay should not be a barrier to receiving the health care you need. If you don’t think you can pay for your health care, please call our Patient Services staff at (617)425-2000 and make an appointment to see what options are available. You might be eligible for Health Safety Net, through programs such as MassHealth, or we might be able to make arrangements for you to pay for services on a sliding scale.
