Accounts Payable/Purchasing Coordinator – Fiscal (Full Time)

Responsible for Accounts Payable procedures and processing of all Accounts Payable. Also responsible for proper coding and timely posting of invoices in to the General Ledger System and maintaining accurate and complete documentation. Purchasing responsibilities include ordering medical and office supplies and materials in the most cost effective manner.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, previous accounts payable and purchasing experience is highly preferred (1 year plus). Ability to function independently is important. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Dental Receptionist -Dental (Per Diem)

Assist patient, provider and staff in order to ensure smooth patient flow from the time of making appointment, through the patient’s arrival and wait-time in the waiting room, and until the patient leaves the department. Serve as a primary liaison between the billing office and patients with regard to verification and input via EMR of patient information, insurance coverage and fee collection.

Qualifications: High school diploma, or equivalent experience, minimum 1 year experience, 1 year EMR experience, worked in a community health center environment. Bilingual: Spanish & English a must.

Dental Assistant – Dental (Per Diem)

Under supervision of a Massachusetts licensed dentist, provides a range of clinical, administrative, and staff support to a full-range dental services operation. Assists in the performance of dental and radiography procedures; prepares and maintains dental equipment and supplies in accordance with established protocol, procedures, policies, and standards, and assists in the coordination of day-to-day patient administration, records, management, and office support activities.

Qualifications: High school or equivalent experience, certified dental assistant, radiology certificate, minimum 1 year dental experience. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Nurse Practitioner – Medical Services (Full Time)

The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, cost effective health care to patients that present to the health center as a walk-in. The Nurse Practitioner will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment according to the standards of advance nursing practice.

Qualifications: Graduate of an ANA accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Master’s Degree in Nursing required. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred with demonstrated ability to work independently. Preferably with experience with walk-in, urgent care setting. Current licensure by Massachusetts Board of Nursing. Nationally certified as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner. Current DEA/Mass Controlled Substance license for prescriptive authority. BLS required.

Physician- Internist or Family Medicine

The Physician will provide direct medical services to the full range of patients, including conducting exams, ordering tests, prescribing medication, formulating treatment plans and providing preventive health care advice and psychosocial screening and assessment. Interest in working with Chinese, GLBT and Latino community health initiatives.

Qualifications: The physician will be expected to maintain full medical licensure in MA, controlled substance licensure in MA and a federal DEA license. Language skills to communicate with the Cantonese or Spanish speaking population preferred.

Honoring Herbert P. Gleason

In February 2012, the South End Community Health Center will honor the contributions and life’s work of Herbert P. Gleason with the establishment of the Herbert P. Gleason Community Health Advocate Award and Fund.

The Herbert P. Gleason Community Health Advocate Award has been established to recognize Herb as a champion of “effervescent democracy.” He has ardently supported access for the underserved and promoted community-based health care. SECHC is honored to include Herb among our family and supporters and we are proud to establish this important award in his name.

Proceeds from this event will be used to establish the Herbert P. Gleason Community Health Advocate Fund at SECHC to support health center initiatives that reflect Herb’s commitment to consumer participation, engagement and advocacy.
