The Billing Specialist is responsible for all required patient billing activities for the Health Center, including: posting, collecting, and monitoring payments; researching and solving third party billing issues; tracking encounter forms and all other billing activities.

Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, detail oriented, attention to accuracy, effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Proficiency in Word and Excel, one to three years experience in Healthcare billing environment, knowledge of third party billing, familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 Coding, preferred but not required.

Insurance Coordinator

Position Title: Insurance Coordinator

Interview insured and uninsured patients. Assist patients with MassHealth/Free Care applications for eligibility, redetermination and disenrollment. Verify private insurance eligibility. Help patients transfer current HMO insurance to health center accepted HMO insurance.

Qualifications: Associates Degree or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of two years experience in health facility insurance coordination role or comparable experience in a health care or managed care organization. Bilingual preferred.

The South End Community Health Center (SECHC) is pleased to announce the grand opening of its new satellite Dr. Gerald Hass Center, home to a new school-based health program and the dedication ceremony for Dr. Gerald Hass. The new Center is being named after our long time Physician-in-Chief and Co-Founder, that for over 40 years he has dedicated his medical career providing pediatric community medicine to children and families in Massachusetts.

At the Dr. Gerald Hass Center, comprehensive services will be provided to students at the William Blackstone Elementary School during the school day as well as to the community.

Goals

Provide health care access to people in the South End community and surrounding neighborhoods.
Improve student’s access to medical, dental and mental health services and enable children with acute or chronic illnesses and special health care needs to attend school.
Work with school officials to help reduce disparities in health care access and child health status by providing a consistent source of care in the most accessible environment.
Improve student’s overall health and wellness through health assessments, health promotion and disease prevention activities.

Manage Care Coordinator -Patient Services (Full Time)

Responsible for the coordination of administrative communication of managed care insurance carriers’ requirements. Assist staff and providers by processing referral authorization numbers, creating HMO’s referral authorization numbers and assist patient with managed care process. Check insurance eligibility and provides insurance education to patients. Enters information in EMR, schedule and informs patients of referral appointments.

Qualifications: High school or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, minimum of two years of experience or customer service role in a health care or managed care organization required. Strong organizational skills. Computer literacy in Microsoft and EMR Evening and/or weekend hours required. Bilingual prefered.

Rehabilitative Specialist – Mental Health CBFS

This position will be responsible for direct service, case management and assisting with Individual Action Plan (IAP) development. Write progress notes, enter data and review progress accordance with Performance Based Treatment Standards.

Qualifications: BA preferred or two (2) years experience in human services, preferably in work with serious mentally ill adults. Experience in developing and writing treatment plans and experience in developing documentation according to Medicaid Rehab Options a plus, Must be computer literate in windows. Strong writing and documentation skills required. Bilingual Preferred.

Medical Assistant – (Per Diem)

Under supervision of the Director of Nursing. This position is responsible for various non-skilled nursing tasks, for maintenance and control of non-pharmaceutical supplies and equipment, and for assigned clerical duties. The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care as well as assists other healthcare professionals in examining and treating patients. The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
