Walk-In Center For Your Urgent Care Needs

At the SECHC Walk-in Center, you can get same day treatment for common illnesses or minor injuries that are non-life threatening, but require immediate attention. You should make an appointment with your Primary Care Physician for routine physicals or medical visits that does not need to be addressed the same day. Additionally, we offer preventive services and vaccinations.

Walk-in Center conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Coughs and colds
  • Itchy eyes
  • Sinus and nasal congestion
  • Earache
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • Pink eye or conjunctivitis
  • Allergy
  • Wheezing/asthma symptoms
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Stomach upset, abdominal pains
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Rash or skin problems
  • Infant weight checks
  • Muscle sprain or strain injury
  • Back pain
  • Knee, shoulder, or other joint pains
  • Minor lacerations
  • Minor animal bites
  • Headache
  • Blood sugar and cholesterol checks
  • TB testing
  • Smoking cessation
  • Flu shot
  • High blood pressure check and medication adjustment
  • Common vaccinations required for school or work

Efficiency and Access: illness or injury that can be treated at the health center. When you have an injury or illness such as the above, we encourage you to come directly to the health center for immediate care. Or, call the Walk-in Center at (617) 425-2031, if you have questions or wonder whether your condition would be appropriatefor this service.

Convenience and Quality: The Walk-in Center will run on a first come, first served basis. Compared with going to the emergency room wait time is minimal and the co-pay may be less depending on your health insurance.

Affordable: We accept most health insurance; however, if you do not have health coverage we can help you apply for affordable, comprehensive coverage that meets your financial and health care needs.
