Shane McBride, MBA

Shane McBride joined the South End Community Health Center in 2013. As Vice President of Quality and Clinical Systems, he is responsible for the setting the strategic direction of quality improvement at the Health Center, as well as directing the Patient Services department. In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer, Shane oversees the transformation of care delivery, and led the successful effort to achieve Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

Shane first became involved with the health center in 2011, serving on the Board of Directors for two years before transitioning to management.  He is a resident of the South End and a patient of the clinic.  Shane has more the 20 years of experience in public sector healthcare, having worked locally and nationally in a number of strategic and operational roles.  Shane’s interest in healthcare started as a child when his sister Shannon was diagnosed with leukemia; as a young adult Shane was diagnosed with testicular cancer.  These experiences shaped Shane’s professional and civic life; he is an Advisor Emeritus for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Patient-Family Advisory Council and Advisory Emeritus for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s ICU Patient-Family Advisory Council.

He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, at Northwestern University.
